"What a grand concert that was -- and your programming was absolutely superb!! Your entire style--all--was wonderful, relaxed and it showed in the demeanor of the singers. Congratulations!"

Ensemble Laude, directed by Elizabeth MacIsaac, is a Women's Community Choir dedicated to singing multi-cultural choral repertoire AND Early Music (pre-1600). Formerly based at the Victoria Conservatory of Music, Ensemble Laude welcomes members of the public enthusiastic to pursue a passion for choral and chamber singing, as well as students at institutions such as the University of Victoria and the Victoria Conservatory of Music.

Every season Ensemble Laude offers approximately 10 performances in the Victoria community, many of which raise funds for charity and all of which bring the glories of medieval and world repertoire to choral enthusiasts on Vancouver Island.

Ensemble Laude toured to France in 2016 for the Choralies Festival in Vaison-la-Romaine and around the Cote d'Azur, garnering international accolades. In 2018, Ensemble Laude was an Invited Choir for the National Choral Conference in St John's Newfoundland, Podium.

Auditions are held in the Spring and in August. Ensemble Laude welcomes upper voiced singers of all ages who love to sing a diversity of choral repertoire. Members receive instruction in various choral styles, including early voice performance practices. Singers will need good intonation and vocal independence but are not required to have music reading skills. Experienced vocalists are offered solo and small group opportunities within the concert context.

If you are interested in being a part of this unique choral experience and would like more information about joining Ensemble Laude and/or arranging an audition, please visit their website.
